October 6th 2003 minutes distributed: Motion to approve Lori H., 2nd Bob F. Minutes approved.
New Business: A concern about an official supposedly making a derogatory remark towards a player on the the ’89 Bantam “AA” team was discussed. The board will follow up with a letter to John Hirzel. In the ’94 Travel division there are only 2 teams participating in the Silver Stick Tournament (Sylvania and T.O.Y.H.A.) The two teams are trying to set up a game here in town, 1 game, winner takes title.
Vice- President: Don Manders absent, nothing to report.
Rules and Discipline: Ken Krider_- A complaint has supposedly been filed with U.S.A. Hockey against the ’89 Bantam “AA” team for recruiting a player from another team. Paul Marshall of Monroe team contacted Ken Krider and informed him of complaint. Board will contact all people involved. Committee has resolved incident of a coach hitting two players at two different levels, to be presented at next meeting.
Treasurer: Mark Kennedy – PeeWee “Blue” player money issue has been resolved. Final Face-Off Tournament results are not complete. Need info from hotel and photographer.
Scheduler: Tom Lopez – absent. Joe states Tom is still talking to Monroe about ice. Tom Lopez, Pat Heldt and Kathy LaVoy are to meet and go over schedules and verify them.
Finance: Mark Korn – Contacting All-Star teams to use cards as fund-raiser. Survey on Web-Site to get ideas for venders for next year. Pee-Wee “Blue” team is running a fund-raiser without contacting board first.
Coaching Director : Bob Felser – getting with Tom Lopez to schedule clinics. Has player evaluations done, need to come up with one for coaches before the players evaluation goes out. Don M. to make a cover letter. Hopefully this will solve some problems that occurred last year.
Equipment: Lori Heldt – All teams are set except for the Bantam “AA” team participating in the Little Caesars Downriver League. Goalie jerseys are on their way, can’t figure out why it took this long to contact her about problems with jerseys? Joe R. informed Lori H. she is doing a great job for the House Division in handing out All-Star jerseys.
Public Relations: Todd Koback – Todd has another logo to look at for possibly changing the Travel Jersey’s looks. (There is nothing different from the Travel Teams participating in the Little Caesars League and the Buckeye League). Don Manders also has a couple to look at.
Secretary: Dave Cook –A PeeWee” Blue” representive has not been at the last two board meetings. The PeeWee “A”, PeeWee “AA” and Squirt “B” teams not represented at this meeting.
Motion to adjurn by Bob F. seconded by Lori H. Motion passed.
