Meeting
called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Harold St. John Adjourned at 10:15 p.m.

Business
·
Meeting
minutes from the March meeting were reviewed
·
Need to
find a new location for the coaches clinic (Sept 2001) due to the construction
in the old lobby.
·
No full
lunch will be provided for the clinics since they lost money last year due to
food costs. Bagels and coffee will
be provided for in the morning and a snack will be provided for the afternoon.
·
No firm
times for ice at the clinics will be available until after the second week of
August.
New
Business
·
Randy Bub
from the Mid-Am board will set up the IP clinic for September or early October.
No lunch will be provided for this as well.
·
Flowers
will be sent to the Gilmore family from SMAHL.
·
The heat
transfer machine needs to be repaired.
· John Henson would like to see goals from the board for the 2001-2002 season.
·
There is a concern about the number of Bantam
teams in the league. It may be
necessary to check with TOYHA and BG if we can schedule games with them.
·
It was
reiterated that we need a Pee Wee checking clinic and mini-mite clinic before
the season starts to get these groups accustomed to the rules and style of play
that they will see.
·
Need to
check into having more forward and defenseman clinics this year.
·
Is it
possible to utilize Monroe for more ice time?
·
By June,
Tam-O-Shanter should have the ice times available.
·
The house
program would like to see the ice time more evenly distributed with the travel
program in regards to times.
·
Joe
Reynolds will be in charge of Ice Chips newsletter and the first edition will be
published in April. Sponsors may be
looked at for the newsletter.
·
The house
board will attend the travel board meetings on a rotating basis.
·
Bruce
Sorg and Ken Jarosz will look into ways of selecting teams to insure
competitiveness.
·
The board
will utilize its members by forming committees where necessary.
·
Ice time
availability is determined by Tam-O-Shanter when looking at other groups using
the ice.
·
Uniform
supplier still needs to be identified.
·
Issue
about how to get more members at the annual meeting was brought up.
Are there alternative methods of holding a vote?
SMAHL should check with other organizations to see how their elections
are conducted.
·
Discussion
about whether or not SMAHL should supply mouth guards for players.
Motion
The
following motion was brought to the floor.
Subsequent to
the selection of all-star teams, those players making an all-star team will no
longer be able to participate in the SMAHL house league. Motion was made by Tom Kitz and seconded by Harold St. John.
Motion was voted down 7-1.

Would
like Public Relations to follow up with Sue Appelhans about the banquet.
Also
would like for Public Relations to check into holding the used equipment sale.

Treasurer

Needs
equipment budget submitted for the 2001-2002 season. Right now it looks like $1200 for pucks and $400-$500 dollars
for mouth guards may be needed. Other equipment will be reviewed and submitted
by Chris Puhl.
·
Need
receipts for the 60 IP spring jerseys and socks.
·
All fees
for the 2001-2002 will be based on if the number of hours is increased.
·
The
banquet finished in the black this year.
Scheduling

Copy of
the final ice schedule will be given out. There
were 20 hours of house practices and 18 games with the exception of the
mini-mite division.
·
The
second Pee Wee All-Star team required 4 hours from each all-star team when
compared to last year.
·
The
second squirt all-star team did not require any ice from other teams.
·
Looking
for suggestions on how to notify SMAHL members that all house time was not
utilized. It was suggested that an
article in ice chips could be done.
